MOT Testing Mitcham, Wimbledon, Streatham And South West London

All UK cars three years old and over require a valid MOT certificate by law. An MOT is a standardised annual test. This is set by the Vehicle Inspectorate. The test is designed to make sure your vehicle meets all the legal requirements for safe road use.

Most MOT test failures are caused by easy to fix issues. This can be as simple as lighting failures.

What is the MOT Test

In order to prove that your vehicle is roadworthy then it must pass its MOT. Here at D & B Automotive Ltd, we provide MOT testing. We can identify any repairs that need to be made in order to bring your vehicle up to standard.

An MOT test is an annual assessment of a cars safety, emissions and roadworthiness. The test is set by the Ministry of Transport and is required by law in the UK. This applies to any car that is three or more years old. The checks ensure that your vehicle is safe for the driver and all passengers, as well as for other road users.

The MoT test covers all the following:

Vehicle Identification Number

Registration Plate

Lights

Steering & Suspension

Wipers and washer bottle

Windscreen

Brakes

Seatbelts

Seats

Fuel System

Emissions

Bodywork

Doors

Mirrors

Wheels & Tyres

An MOT pass certificate only confirms that your vehicle is roadworthy at the time of the inspection. This shows that your vehicle met or exceeded the minimum legal standards. These standards are as provided by VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency). We can undertake Class 4 MOT tests at Mitcham. So request an MOT Test callback and we can book your car in.

Is my MOT due?

You know by law you get your insurance renewal reminder 21 days before it's due! You know that the DVLA reminds you when your car tax is due a month before? But no governing body reminds you easily when your MOT is due!

You can book an MOT up to 28 days in advance of its due date. Most people don't realise, but the expiry date on your new MOT is 12 months from the expiry of your old one. This means you could have an MOT that lasts for 13 months.
